Building the offline payment layer together.
RelayZero and OffChain are aligned around one practical idea: crypto should remain usable when the normal internet-connected wallet experience disappears.
Most crypto wallets assume a modern smartphone, reliable data, and constant access to RPC infrastructure. That assumption fails during blackouts, network restrictions, disasters, and in areas where connectivity is simply expensive or unreliable.
RelayZero approaches the problem from a bounded execution layer. A verified phone can request a payment, receive an exact quote, approve it with a short-lived code, and later receive an on-chain result. OffChain approaches the same problem from a broader coordination layer, publicly presenting SMS transport, NFC interaction, mesh networking, privacy technology, and AI-agent workflows.
The collaboration focuses on the overlap between these systems: secure payment intent, alternative transport, connected relay settlement, physical-world payment routes, and interfaces simple enough for both people and software agents.
WHAT EACH SIDE BRINGS
Complementary infrastructure, built around the same constraint.
SMS payment execution
RelayZero has demonstrated a bounded SMS-authorized ETH transfer on Robinhood Chain mainnet. The phone acts as a command channel while an online relay performs blockchain settlement.
Transport beyond the browser
OffChain publicly describes an offline-first wallet and coordination layer spanning SMS, BLE, LoRa, NFC, and relay-based blockchain submission.
Controlled authority
RelayZero separates the recovery owner from a narrowly authorized SMS smart wallet with payment, daily, lifetime, and fee limits.
Agent-ready interfaces
Both projects are exploring natural-language interfaces. RelayZero currently keeps its assistant proposal-only, while OffChain presents AI-agent execution as part of its product direction.
RELAYZERO PROGRESS
From a concept to a confirmed SMS payment.
- Mainnet ETH transfer authorized through an SMS exchange
- Payments to exact EVM addresses and registered phone identities
- On-chain spending ceilings and revocable executor authority
- Quote expiry, replay protection, reconciliation, and transaction history
- Web onboarding, smart-wallet funding, balance, and command dashboard
“The goal is not to pretend a blockchain settles without connectivity. The goal is to let people authorize value through whatever channel still works, then settle safely when a relay reaches the chain.”

NEXT IMPROVEMENTS
From SMS proof to a broader offline commerce network.
Harden SMS operations
Expand carrier testing, delivery observability, recovery controls, and production support around the working payment route.
Test NFC routes in person
Prototype merchant tags and device-to-device payment intent, then validate the flow with physical hardware and real shops.
Standardize relay packets
Define a transport-neutral request format that can travel over SMS, NFC, BLE, files, QR codes, or future mesh networks.
Improve agent coordination
Let AI create clearer payment proposals and support workflows while keeping signing authority constrained by user-approved policy.
